Whilst I had a Minolta film camera when younger, it wasn't until 2009 when I purchased a Canon 450d that I really began to get more interested in photography, especially in Landscapes.

 

Unfortunately like a lot of people time wasn't much help, I planned some weekends out locally and then started to expand my trips to the Yorkshire Dales, Lake District East Coast and North Wales. It was around 2013 when I discovered the Peak District, even though it's closer than any of the previous locations mentioned. Closely followed by trips to Dorset, from 2014 after my son had started at University in Bournemouth.

 

Slowly trying to develop post processing skills has helped along with watching YouTube videos and keeping an eye on other fantastic photographer's and their websites and galleries.

After retirement I vowed to get out much more, find new locations and try and publish more photos. Unfortunately we were soon faced with COVID, travel stopped and everything changed for lots of people. After the pandemic I again vowed to go out more, but time pressures and other commitments got in the way too much.

 

So my new promise to myself, is to get out much more in 2023, publish pictures on this website, revisit old locations and discover new ones. This website should be a way to log that journey through 2023 and into 2024.
